"dark skies don't always mean rain."

Welcome to my Carrd! I'm Sprout, formerly Buddy, and I'm an artist, writer, and first and foremost cat lover. I love cats. They're my beloveds. I'm a sleep-deprived Filipino who reads silly cat books and watches shows about first responders (well used to. Now I watch a bunch of guys perform to be part of a group). I heart Rosetail (who is the cat in the design above). Remember that.Honestly I also use this Carrd to store info about myself, like all my lore stuff below. Just so that I can remember! Yay!

My Turbulous Online Journey: an essay by sprout

How did I start my online journey? Signing up on Pixilart in May 2021. It was a pixel art website I saw one day while surfing the web for some, and I decided to make an account just for the fun of it. From there I somehow found a specific Magma link, posted on the wall of someone called Frostybirdy... hm! Why don't I check it out? What even is a Magma?Well, it's an interactive painting board, as proved when I clicked the link. There I did, indeed, meet Frostybirdy - Frost, basically. And someone else called Strawbs. I was wowed by the art I saw on the board, and I started to talk with Frost off-site on Pixilart aswell. And then, joining Magma after Magma, I got introduced to a lot of other people: namely, Aud, Bean, Raven, and a few other fellows. And each afternoon, roleplays and general chats would erupt on the boards. I felt like I belonged. Then overtime, with guidance from other, more experienced artists, I began to improve, slowly and steadily. I joined the Empire Discord server and got to befriend more people - shout out to Frankie. And, thanks to my friends and just observing other people's art and absorbing some aspects of it, I mishmashed everything into what my art looks like now! I'm incredibly happy with how my style looks right now, and while there's definitely a lot going on there sometimes, I thank Pixilart dearly for introducing me to the world of online art.
